KonMari and Cladwell Team Up To Help You Pare Down

In 1930, the average woman had 36 items of clothing; today, it's 150. New York Times best-selling author and organizing consultant Marie Kondo, creator of the KonMari Method, and Cladwell are teaming up to help pare down your closet and create outfits that you love. They combine the heart of Kondo’s book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, with the expertise of a styling app. According to Marie Kondo,

"My books show people how to tidy up, and Cladwell can help those who've finished tidying their clothing by helping them create a capsule wardrobe. Once you understand your fashion preferences and begin to shop intentionally, you'll be closer to living your ideal life."

Cladwell founders were inspired by the KonMari Method after reading Kondo’s book. The capsule movement has gained popularity largely due to those de-cluttering thanks to Marie Kondo. Cladwell founder, explains,

“Having a capsule wardrobe is not about removing the things you love, it’s about making space for the things you do. We want to make lives better. We believe we can do that by helping you own less, while loving it more."

Having a closet that only contains the things you love requires you to slow down and change the way and pace in which you shop. The issues with consumerism and disposable fashion can lead to poor treatment of garment workers and low garment quality. So yes, it’s about choosing to support brands that are transparent about how their clothes are made, but it’s also about choosing to buy less and shop with purpose.

“Our customers own 80% less clothing than the average American - saving them $600+ per year. We want clothes that look great, last, and don’t hurt people overseas,” says Cladwell.

By partnering, their collective hope is that after you've tidied up your closet using the KonMari Method, Cladwell will guide you on a personalized journey to create a minimal, beautiful capsule wardrobe that sparks joy every day.
